Visitor Center Volunteers

As you walk through the front door of the Visitor Center, a friendly face is always there to welcome you with a smile and offer assist. The Visitor Information Center could not exist without these wonderful volunteers who so faithfully donate their time to serve the public.

We appreciate all of the work our volunteers do for the community and like to share our gratitude by highlighting them with the "Volunteer of the Month" award.

This month's volunteer is Bob Fries.  He moved into the valley from the Oregon coast one year ago, and just six months later, came into the Visitor Center to volunteer.  He retired from IBM in 1990 where he worked as a tool and model maker and a mechanical engineer.  Mary James, Visitor Center Manager, says, "Bob is a very knowledgeable person, and if he doesn't know an answer, he researches until he finds the answer.  I'm impressed by how much he knows about southern Oregon, and his enthusiasm is contagious.  The visitors love talking to him."  Thank you, Bob for being a great volunteer!
