Rogue Opera - The Merry Wives of Windsor

The Merry Wives of Windsor, Otto Nicolai's comic opera about deception, revenge, and love abounds in glorious music and drama. The Merry Wives of Windsor is an adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy that is an amusing farce whose subject is the eternal battle of the sexes. Falstaff, an aging and portly has-been cavalier who still imagines himself to be something of a "stud muffin," simultaneously courts two married women by using identical love letters. The faithful wives plan to take revenge on the would-be Lothario. Meanwhile, Anna, the young and desirable daughter of Mr. Page, attempts to outwit her parents as they choose whom she shall wed. A richly talented cast, a full orchestra and beautiful period costumes will ensure a sparkling evening of sheer delight for opera novices and aficionados alike. Performed in English.

altarboyz.jpg (34433 bytes)Altar Boyz

It’s a play! It’s a concert! It’s Nunsense meets N-Sync! It’s Altar Boyz, the Catholic boy band on a mission: Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan & Abraham. They aim to save souls with hot pop songs, glorious voices, and killer choreography. Matthew is the dreamboat leader of the group. Mark is the sensitive one. Luke is the streetwise B-boy who has a little trouble staying on the Path. Juan is the Latin hottie in search of his long-lost parents. And Abraham is Jewish. (What’s he doing in a Christian boy band? God only knows.) They are fierce in their spiritual mission and, though there is much humor resulting from their naïve fervor, they are utterly sincere and their message is all about the power of love, acceptance…and really great hair. Songs: God Put the Rhythm in Me; Girl, You Make Me Want To Wait; La Vida Eterna; Everybody Fits in God’s Great Family.

Camelot-Theatre-logo.jpg (23579 bytes)Dancing at Lughnasa

An extraordinary play, Brian Friel's masterpiece propels you into the lives of five unmarried sisters, one with a young son, sho celebrat the everyday miracles they somehow create in their small Irish village in 1963.  It is the time of the festival of Lughnaza, the celebration of the harvest and of better times to come.   Brief colorful bursts of music from the radio are the sisters link to romance and hope.  When they begin to dance to a wild, pagan Irish tune, they embody the core of the human spirit that cannot be vanquished by time or loss.
