- Art In Bloom

Art in Bloom takes place every Mother's Day Weekend, Saturday and Sunday in
Medford's downtown Vogel Plaza. Enjoy the fine art of regional artists in the Rogue
Valley's largest juried outdoor art fair. Musical performances, special exhibits,
workshops and children's activities enhance this springtime celebration, which also

- Bear Creek Park
One of Medford's many parks, Bear Creek Park has fun play structures, a wooden fort, bike
path and skate park! Located on Highland Drive and Siskiyou Blvd, near I-5, exit 27. For

- Butte Creek
Mill
You can mix fun with education by visiting this historic mill. Nestled on the banks of
Little Butte Creek, the last original operating water-powered gristmill in the West is fun
for all ages. Visitors may watch the miller at work and find stone ground flours, meals,
cereals, mixes and a variety of other full-of-nutrition foodstuffs and snacks in the mill
Country Store. The mill is listed on the National Historic Register and is open 9 am to 5
pm daily. Museum, covered bridge and parks nearby all with no admission charge! 541-826-3531
- Camp White
Historical Association and Museum
History comes alive in the military memorabilia displayed at Camp White Military Museum.
The collections include guns, medals, letters, posters, and historic uniforms. The museum
also has a large photo collection of Camp White's history, currently being collected and
preserved. Open Monday through Friday 10:00 am-3:00 pm.

Fish Hatchery
Have your kids ever wondered where fish come from? More than five million fish are grown
at this hatchery annually! A trip to the hatchery is not only educational, but offers a
great picnic spot and lots of scenery. Located 33 miles northeast of Medford on Hwy
62.
- Crater Lake
Crater Lake is a natural wonder that no visitor to Southern Oregon should miss! Located
eighty miles northeast of Medford, it is the deepest lake in the United States, and
Oregons only National Park. It features a lodge and exhibit building at Rim village,

Museum
For children who are rock hounds, this is a
must! The museum contains earth science specimens of the local area, crystals, gems and
jewels, fossils, geodes, and more. Open Tuesdays, through Saturdays from 10 am to 4

Dogs for the
Deaf
The Dogs for the Deaf foundation rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to act as the
eyes and the ears of people who have hearing complications. At the Dogs for the Deaf Camp,
dogs learn to respond to household sounds such as smoke alarms, doorbells, etc. in order
to assist the daily living of those who are hearing impaired. After 4-6 months of vigorous
training, the dogs are placed nationwide with qualified candidates. Located 11 miles north
of Medford, take I-5 north exit 32. Tour last approximately 1 hour and includes a short
video, tour of facility and getting to watch the dogs "in action". 541-826-9220

Summer Reading program offers a wide variety of reading and learning experiences for

- Railroad Park
Take a ride on miniature choo-choos. These free steam train rides are for kids of all ages
and offered by the Southern Oregon Live Steamers. Open April through October on the 2nd
and 4th Sunday. Model trains are exhibited in a nearby building and the Morse Telegraph
Club sends free telegraph messages to anyone, anywhere.

- Spirit of the
Rogue Nature Center
Nestled along the renowned Rogue River, Spirit of the Rogue Nature Center sits in the rain
shadow of Crater Lake National Park. Home to the osprey, beaver, mink, otter and myriad
waterfowl, the site truly captures the Spirit of the Rogue! The Visitor Center is open
Memorial Day through Labor Day, 10 am - 4 pm weekends and holidays and depicts geology,
wild life and natural history of the area. Guided tours may be scheduled upon request.

Vogel Plaza
Kids will have a blast getting wet in the water fountains that beautify Vogel Plaza. Bring
