Ali Babaali-baba.jpg (14955 bytes)

Another in the Cabaret’s tradition of English Panto-inspired holiday shows created by OCT’s own Jim Giancarlo, Jim Malachi and Darcy Danielson. Ali Baba (the black sheep of the Baba family) is on a hero’s quest. He is aided by our narrator, the beauteous Scheherazade, and by a wry Genie (“I prefer Eugene”) and opposed by the arch-villain Pasha Poobah, who plans to subjugate the world by commandeering a certain precious dark substance. Along the way Ali meets Brooklyn-born Ruby Twankey and her mute daughter, Pearl, who operate a Bedouin-breakfast in the desert; an English twit-and-punk pair called Fish and Chip; and a singing-dancing Camel. All of the Panto elements are here: broad humor, puns in abundance, cross-dressing, topical references, wacky romance, wild costumes, audience retorts and an eclectic score with themes pilfered from Rimsky-Korsakov. Order early: our holiday shows sell out quickly.

Two New Yorkers, Tommy Albright and Jeff Douglas, are loost in the Scottish Highlands.   When the fog lifts, they find themselves in the 18th century village of Brigadoon.   As Tommy falls in love with the beautiful Fiona, she introduces him to Mr. Lundie who tells them the 200-year old legend - Brigadoon apprear for only one day every 100 years to protect it from the outside world.  No resident can leave the town or it will disappear forever.  But... an outsider could be permitted to stay if he loved someone enough.  Tommy must now chose between staying with Fiona or returning to the world he knows.  Bridadoon's beautiful, lifting score includes songs like "Almost Like Being in Love" and "The Heather on the Hill."
